2022.06.27Notice from Gotion China Headquarters — Announcement of the 360 Wh/kg Semi-Solid Battery

From May 27 to 28, Gotion's 11th Science and Technology Conference was held in Hefei, Anhui. At the conference, Gotion announced a 360 Wh/kg semi-solid battery capable of achieving a driving range of 1,000 km.

The semi-solid battery developed by the company, which achieves a cell energy density of 360 Wh/kg, is scheduled to be installed in vehicles within this year. The vehicle equipped with the semi-solid battery has a battery pack capacity of 160 kWh and a driving range of 1,000 km, while its acceleration time to 100 km is only 3.9 s.  

Notably, at this conference, the Executive Vice President of Gotion Engineering Research InstituteMr. Zhang Honglidelivered the annual science and technology report. According to Mr. Zhang Hongli, Gotion plans to achieve mass production of 360 Wh/kg ternary semi-solid batteries within this year. At the same time, prototype samples of 400 Wh/kg ternary semi-solid batteries have already been developed. In addition, in the future, through technological innovation involving the iteration of silicon-based anodes, lithium-metal anodes, and pre-lithiation technologies, Gotion will accelerate the transition from liquid batteries to semi-solid batteries and ultimately achieve all-solid-state batteries.

In addition, Gotion's partnership with Volkswagen continues to deepen.Volkswagenand Gotion's joint project team has more than 100 members, with functions fully covering cells, production technology, project management, quality, measurement, and testing. The ternary and lithium iron phosphate standard cells developed by the company have already been designated by Volkswagen for production at designated manufacturing plants.

Since 2011, the Gotion Science and Technology Conference has been held 11 times and has achieved success. Through various formats, including keynote speeches, technical forums, and roundtable discussions, the conference has developed into an important communication platform for the new energy industry.
